FAQ Friday: What is a Lead Generating Website?

FAQ Friday- What is a Lead Generating Website

You’re not online 24/7 and neither is your team. However, your website is. But is your website generating leads even when you’re not online? In today’s FAQ Friday, let’s review some lead generation ideas especially when it comes to transforming your website into a lead generating one.

What is a lead?

A lead is someone or an organization that shows interest in your product or service. However, in order for a lead to be attracted to your products or services, they must be attracted to your brand first. And in order for them to be interested in your brand, they have to be interested in your website.

Your website is the gatekeeper between attracting potential leads and converting them into customers. For your website to be lead generating, you have to provide value through content and other trust building assets before you can even attempt to offer your services. For quick insight on leads, watch the following video below:

How do I attract potential leads to my website?

With inbound marketing, everything you do should focus on your ideal customers. Meaning, your products or services are not going to “wow” your potential leads and customers right off the bat. You have to show them their value. And the best way to do that is through your website.

In order to attract potential leads to your website, you should implement the following:

  • Create content: When a user visits your website, they can enter from multiple entry points. However, it’s harder to keep them on your website if you don’t have anything to hold your audience’s interests.Adding value is simple when you decide to create content for your target audience. Blog posts, infographics, resource lists, webinars, podcasts, videos, etc. are just a few types of content that you can create to attract leads.
  • Social media engagement: Once you’ve created some content, it’s time to distribute it. Social media is a great tool to spread your brand awareness. The internet holds about 3 billion users and social media platforms alone holds about 2 billion active users . With these statistics in mind, you need to meet your audience where they are. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, these social platforms and more are necessary to creating an engaged experience with your audience. Host live Q&A sessions with Periscope. Share your blog post links to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. Upload videos to YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook. Create behind the scene stories about your brand with Snapchat and Instagram. However you decide to engage with your audience, it’s imperative that you do as well as find ways to link your content to your website. Your social media is a way for your audience to build trust with your brand before you even share your first point of contact.
  • Targeted keywords: Your keyword list is crucial to attracting leads. Review your buyer personas. Narrow in on the specific wants and need of each persona. Then find and create a list of long tailed keywords that encompasses their wants and needs. For example, if a potential is looking for web design in the bay area and you offer that service, you should have a keyword list that embodies that need.
